Center for Optomechatronics & Advanced Manufacturing (COAM) of RITS consists of three laboratories-"Key Laboratory of Optomechatronics Integration", "Key Laboratory of Micro-nano Engineering" and "Key Laboratory of Micro Electro Mechanical System (in preparation)". Among these, there are two Shenzhen Branch of State Key Laboratories and one Shenzhen Key Laboratory. COAM in collaboration with several well-known companies, famous universities and research institutions establishes six joint engineering centers. In the interdisciplinary research areas facing to industries of optomechatronics integration and advanced manufacturing, COAM linked with School of Information Science & Technology, School of Mechanical Engineering and Shenzhen Graduate School of Tsinghua University as well as several State Key Laboratories (Precision Measurement Technology & Instruments, Tribology and etc.) or Engineering Centers (National Computer Integrated Manufacturing System (CIMS), etc.). COAM has made breakthroughs in the multiple areas of key technologies and important industries, and also obtained three national awards. More than 50 full-time professional researchers in all professions work in COAM, 75% of them obtained doctor degrees or master degrees.
